Monday Morning Will Probably Be Icy
There is a winter weather system headed for the greater Hoboken area, and it’s likely to impact the morning commute.
It’s the dreaded “Wintry Mix,” and while snow accumulation will be less than half an inch, there will be sleet and rain combining to create ice on the ground.
As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 3:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The City of Hoboken announced that they will be pre-salting the streets in preparation for the icy mess.
#Hoboken streets being pre-treated this afternoon w/salt brine (roads may appear white). All parking rules remain in effect.

Since ice events in Hoboken are historically a colossal pain in the @$$—particularly when people fall flat on theirs—residents are encouraged to be proactive and salt their sidewalks this evening, in an effort to mitigate the ice problem.
That’s not an official edict, that’s just common sense.
Speaking of common sense—wear some decent boots if you plan on venturing out tomorrow.
Like these, perhaps…
